Donna Addison has been with Celebrity Ballroom Dance Studios since 2018. She is one of best and favorite instructors. Donna specializes in wedding dances, and performance routines. Her students always look flawless for their big event whether it is their first dance, a show performance or a competition.
Donna has been a dancer all her life. After studying with Mable Wynn and Kathy Owings Porter in her home state of South Carolina, Donna earned her B.F.A. in Dance at Florida State University and was also a scholarship student at the Alvin Ailey School in NY. Her various performance experiences include modern dance companies, regional theatre, the cruise ships of Holland America Line and even Las Vegas magic shows. Donna has taught ballet, jazz, modern dance, praise dance and various specialty acts in addition to choreographing for high school musical theatre productions. She fell in love with ballroom dance while working on cruise ships and loves teaching at Celebrity Ballroom. Donna looks forward to sharing her love of dance with her students.
How long have you been dancing?-
“Since I took my first ballet class at 7 years old. I was hooked immediately but didn’t decide to make it my life’s work until I saw Debbie Allen dance on TV. I thought “Hey! I want to do that!””
What is your favorite part about being a dance teacher?
“Seeing someone realize that they can dance when they thought they couldn’t.”
Why do you love about your job?
“I love dancing because it brings me joy. I can’t think of anything better than sharing joy with others.”
What are looking forward to do at or with the studio in the next year?
“Seeing the progress my students make and having larger parties! More fun!”
