Come Show Your Support As We Celebrate and Perform at The Juneteenth Festival in Douglasville
Calling all Celebrities!!!
Please join us this Saturday, June 15th, in Douglasville to celebrate Juneteenth!
Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day, was originally the celebration to commemorate the announcement in Texas of the end of slavery in America on June 19, 1865. It has become a celebration of the Emancipation of Slaves in America.
Douglasville’s 2019 Juneteenth Celebration returns to O’Neal Plaza in downtown Douglasville on Saturday, June 15, 2019, with a family-fun festival that is free and open to the public from 10am until 8pm. The festival will include bounce houses and train rides, live entertainment, bingo, and vendors from all over the Metro (health and wellness, food & beverage, and Arts & Crafts), and finish off the evening with a free concert.
Celebrity Ballroom Dance Studios has a 30-minute performance on the festival stage at 2:00 pm, and we hope to see you there. We plan to perform dances with African roots like Rumba, Tango and Cha Cha, and we will also teach to a short group class to the audience.
The event is sponsored by BEHE, the Black Education Historical Exhibit, a charitable organization with a mission to preserve memorabilia for youth in Douglas County. For more information, visit them on Facebook at @JuneteenthDouglasvilleGeorgia
