Could It Be Your Time To Tango?
Our #1 goal is to help as many people as possible discover the passion that comes alive with dance. While doing so, live a healthier, happier and more fulfilled life in every way possible. We believe life is very short in the grand scheme of things, and we are not meant to live a life with neither zest nor passion.
One particular ballroom dance that comes to mind when we think PASSION is The Tango. It is one of the most passionate dances today! No, the Tango is not the stereotypical rose in the mouth, stomp across the floor in a dramatic fashion as Hollywood would like us to think. Instead, the Tango is the amorous dance from Argentina where the lady and man are both vulnerable and committed to one another, relying on lead & follow and intense communication to create a beautiful musical picture.
American style tango’s evolutionary path is derived from Argentina to the United States, when it was popularized by silent film star Rudolph Valentino in 1921, who demonstrated a highly stylized form of Argentine tango in “The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.” As a result, the Hollywood style steps mixed in with other social dance steps of the times began this branch away from the Argentine style. Meanwhile, the tango was also making its own inroads into Europe.
Following the English standardization of their version of Tango, Arthur Murray, a ballroom dance instructor in the U.S., tried his own hand at standardizing the ballroom dances for instruction in his chain of social dance schools. This looser social style was referred to as American style by the English.

You might be wondering…What can I expect on my very first dance lesson?
The hardest step to learning to dance is walking into the front door. Once you have done that, leave the rest up to us.
Here is what you can expect:
Studio Tour– We have a state of the art facility in Marietta with 3 ballrooms. Our main ballroom is 1500 square feet of floating floor (this means it is really good on your joints and moves with you as you move). Our Junior Ballroom is perfect for intimate practices and stretching while Studio C is where many of our group classes are held.
Getting to Know You– Your instructor will get to know you with some questions such as “have you ever danced before?” and “why would you like to learn to dance?” This is to make sure we can provide you with the best experience.
Basic Fundamentals- Your instructor will then work with you on the basic elements, lead and follow, and a couple of the basic dance steps.
Future Dance Lessons- At the end of your first lesson, your instructor will go over all of the dance options our studio provides and guide you down the right path.
